Fairytale Palace

Today we took the girls to Sintra, via the sea at Azenhas do Mar. Saw this palace from the Moorish castle above the town, but haven't been able to find out what it was - if anyone knows, please tell me!

Came back via Cascais to have a martini where Ian Fleming created his James Bond, but forgot it was Estoril in Cascais, so we ended up having them in an Irish Pub, and then saw the famous Casino as we carried on driving home. Oh well, now I know...

Gratefuls:
- being able to spend time with Julia's housemate, and her being a Northerner, i.e. no nonsense
- Mike doing a lot of complicated driving, and being rewarded with a dry martini, shaken, not stirred (though the Pub had no olives!)
- the soft pinks and oranges after sunset, looking out over the sea at Cabo da Roca, continental Europe's most westerly point
