Alpine style in a Midi street
These eaves seem to be completely out of the local style, more alpine than Languedocian, but they are in my one street. More in keeping with other houses in the village are the roof tiles, the pulley for hauling stores up to the attic doorway and - sadly, perhaps - the satellite dish.
A haiku:
Out of place
alpine roof slopes, lace-
carved wood, diagonal shade
on sunbleached shutters
