Jane Whyte is North East Scotland’s Grace Darling. Her actions in 1884 saved 15 men whose vessel , William Hope, was shipwrecked on the Aberdour shore. ( between Banff and Fraserburgh). She was awarded the RNLI silver medal and also received cash rewards which she used to pay for education for some of her nine children
