Ball Girl

This is Bella, our neighbours' dog whose favourite occupations are getting wet, preferably in the sea, and fetching balls so she is in seventh heaven here. The dog was rescued from an owner who rarely exercised her and usually the attention she got came in the form of balls being thrown for her to fetch. This has left her with a ball fixation and you really know this when you are trying to take the ball of her and she thinks it is going to be the end of the game. She is very butch and strong with a jaw and weight to match. Sadly this ball was lost in the sea shortly after I took this photo and she spent ages looking for it and only came out of the water just as we were disappearing into the dunes.
However, she is the sweetest dog who has responded well to the love, care and treats that are lavished on her by our neighbours. We see her most days and and she is very responsive and loves to be stroked. She rubs her sides up against your leg. Mind you white hairs on black trousers can be a bit of a problem.
