(Not) The Appian Way

Let's see....this is not ancient Rome, there haven't been any slave revolts hereabouts, so I suppose this can't be the Appian Way and it would explain the complete lack of crucified slaves hanging from the poles.

Mind you, the silhouettes of the power line poles receding into the distance brought the Via Appia instantly to my mind........but, perhaps that's just me and I need therapy.
