The old Beetle.

For many years, our family car was a light blue VW Beetle. We had many holidays in that car and when Dad got a company car, it became Mum's car, although she often let me use it. In fact, I did a lot of my learning to drive in that car. I remember driving it around the block a few extra times, just to see the mileage click over from 99,999 to 00,000!

I think it was Christmas 1986, that Rachel made this felt model of the car for Mum, with a very little help from me! Today, whilst helping Mum sort out a few things, we came across the model in a drawer. I think it must be a family heirloom now, as the actual car was sold many years ago.
