HMS Discovery

Up in Dundee most of today; and there appeared to be some very recent 'repairs/maintenance' on the HMS Discovery just coming to a close - this snap caught the moment the ship's dock was being re-filled; presumably with water taken straight from the Firth of Tay ...

... always think of Tom Crean when I see the Discovery - would highly recommend this book about his life and travels; I just could not put it down when I first came across it a couple of years ago!

Much of the main expedition-story is covered in the film, Shackleton's Captain, which I'd also recommend :-)
