Leonardo da Vinci drawings
Sunderland museum has an exhibition of drawings by Leonardo da Vinci. There are 12 I think. There are a wide variety of subjects: figures, a horse, anatomical drawings and a map. He was clearly a fabulously talented person who was employed by a variety of rich and influential people. The anatomical drawings have mirror writing on them. Overall very well presented with interesting accompanying text.
Also featured in the same room are a variety of other artists including a Rosetti and a Norman Cornish (a pitman painter).
The Da Vinci drawings all belong to the Queen's art collection.
