Nearly Ready.

Today had an unusual start, after the first job I normally go round the corner to my second customer but, quite rightly, she didn't want me to call because there very little to do in her garden.

Another customer, which is a small communal garden, has wanted some small shrubs removed for a while so I arranged to do that to fill the space.

There were 5 Spirea Japonica to be removed, all in confined spaces making using my mattock quite difficult. The customer's husband had been watching and told me about the hand sized mattock he had hoped to use to do the job. Since buying it he has had medical difficulties and now walks with a stick making his mattock redundant. He disappeared and returned shortly afterwards with the said tool and promptly gave it to me!

As I chopped all the growth off the final one to be removed I saw a mound of leaves underneath and investigated very carefully to find a hibernating hedgehog fast asleep. I then laid all the clippings over him, lightly fastened them and left him to sleep.

This evening we have been to yoga for lots of intensive stretching and then home to pack for a weekend away in sunny Bournemouth.
