Rainbow over Princes Street

Today's the day . . . . . . . . . . . to go to Edinburgh

A lovely day spent in the capitol - doing a few things that we'd meant to do for ages.

A special lunch at The Kitchin  in Leith, one of the restaurants owned by Tom Kitchin.  He was there too - cooking away - because we could see him behind a glass screen.  It was a Christmas present from Rob and Anna - a year ago - but it's taken us till now to get it organised.

Then a bit of a wander along Princes Street, more to eat and attendance at a wonderful performance in the Queen's Hall of Les Violons de Bruxelles and a Scottish Band called Rose Room.  They both were admirers of the Jazz Manouche genre - the sort of jazz played by Stefan Grappeli and Django Reinhart - and they put on a spellbinding concert.

It was a privilege to be there to hear them . . . . . . . . . . .
