Tinsel Town

I'm not a fan of tinsel. Well, not generally. I think it's a bit sinister (it's odd, I know, but I do!), hanging in dark corners on false trees, or wrapped around staircases in shopping centres trying to enforce festivities, or tied to people on Christmas staff nights out looking somewhat worse for wear after one to many glasses of mulled wine. But, leaving that aside... the sunshine this morning caught the multi-coloured tinsel on my colleague's desk next to mine and it caught my eye. Not only was it illuminated, it cast beautiful rainbow colours across our desks and brightened up what was quite a sleepy-eyed morning for us all after yesterday's hard work. Perhaps this is a tinsel turning point for me. (Nah, that won't happen, but I will look forward to 10am every sunny morning for the next two weeks to see the colours again.)
