Muddy and fluffy

Conversation at the Waitrose checkout :

Waitrose partner : My cat’s deaf.
Me : That must be difficult.
WP : I’ve taught her sign language.
Me: I can’t imagine a cat doing Makaton.
WP : (complete with demonstration). She knows this means she should come for food.

Meanwhile, back at home, Furbie is having none of it. She’d much rather destroy the box my parcel came in.
