The oddyssey continues - Scottish league ground # 11 was the plan for the day. A bus into town, super skinny black jeans purchased and then we went against the tide of green hats and tartan scarves heading West to Murrayfield; our red and white favours heading east and into a southbound train. A quick dip into the Lorna Moon anthology as the countryside of East Lothian slipped effortlessly past.
To Berwick! 5th place Binos v 9th Berwick Rangers- bright and breezy day as we strode across the bridge over the Tweed arriving a few minutes late. Still 0-0 as we arrived we settled into a game ruined by a strong cross wind, Stirling sneaked ahead from a penalty just before half time ...the only point of note in an otherwise forgettable 45 minutes.
A brighter second half followed- the Binos dominated and Daz Smith's flashing header from the 6 yard line looked like it would open the flood gates.
Chance after chance went a begging before the inevitable consolation goal for Berwick meant an uneasy final 5 minutes.
But hold on we did and we slowly picked our way back thru the shoreline of Tweedmouth and across the old bridge and back up through the town to the station.
Into town, we dodged weaving rugby fans to go to Hers for dinner and admire the new fridge before a final bus home and a shift system of showers and championship football as finally fatigue took over.
