Winery DAY

Saturday was supposed to be a day to go look for the snowy owl seen around Seneca Falls/Montezuma Reserve. But..... the weather did not cooperate with predicted wind gusts of 10-50 mph for that county . Being of relatively sound minds we opted to visit the Seneca Lake Finger Lakes Wineries. This was not a bad choice considering we were down to 1 bottle of non dessert wine. Those hang around because we really don't drink much dessert wine. We stopped at Wagner's to get Colin a growler of root beer, moved on to Lamoreaux Landings, Standing Stone and finally Herman Wiemer. Somewhat disappointed that the gruner Veltiner was way too mineral at Wiemer's and just blah at Lamoreaux. Both of them were quite good last year- but the weather alas in 2018 must not have cooperated.
On the other hand the Rieslings were quite good and we came bc with enough wine to last a few months , barring parties.(none of those in the works)
The photo is from Herman Wiemer Winery .The racked bottles were too dark to get a good photo.
Hoping to get to Montezuma and track down that snowy next weekend!
