Dramatic Light over Glossop

We've driven to Macclesfield today, to take Mum-in-Law for her audiology appointment tomorrow to see about a new hearing aid (hope she doesn't lose it this time!).

We used our favourite route, over Woodhead Pass then through Glossop. We passed through lovely sunlight and heavy squally hail showers, but this made for some lovely light as you can see. There aren't many places where you can stop on that road, but we managed to pull off to get this view. The contrast between the golden light on the distant hills and the much colder light on the foreground was quite dramatic.

It's worth looking large against black if you've time.

The road which you can see climbing up the hill beyond the town is the one we'd be driving up a few minutes after this photo was taken.
