Sally Mair - Loving life

Day 10 What a welcome

Today is the start of my first full week at school. The children have an assembly on a Monday morning before I get there. When I arrived and saw the Kollam pattern outside I wondered who the special guest had been, then I saw the decorated white-board inside. (see extra)
I was quite overwhelmed. It's so nice to be back with staff and pupils some of whom I've known for over 13 years.
There's a new physio, so a bit of relationship building to do there, however, she's been really warm and welcoming so far which is great.
This afternoon, Raja picked me up in his auto to being me home again then took me to visit the centre at Chittenden to which I'll be moving at the end of this week. Synthia, the pastor's wife was very friendly and kind so I feel quite comfortable about moving there.
Raja was busy this evening, so I went for a walk around the VOC ground as usual then set off to find my way on foot through towards the market area and the hotel I've been getting my dinner from most evenings... I blipped the parotta master the other day. Tonight I had chicken 65 again with veg rice, very tasty.
Walked back home again after eating, all of which helped me to do 15,157 steps today. 4 days out of 5 so far this week so I'm on target and I'm pleased about that as I didn't think I'd manage to keep up the walking.
