Dereliction with a View
It’s been a beautiful day here...so hubby and I set off for a long walk with the dog late this morning. Our route today took us around the once local big house and estate which has only recently been broken down and sold off.
I love the old stone gateway (main pic) which frames the view across the fields to Dunbar and the North Sea...the old dovecote is in the field beyond so I imagine it was a busy gateway when the estate was hosting shooting parties. It’s a shame that so much of the estate has been allowed to go to rack and ruin over the years...the letter box was found on an empty cottage, the door being tied closed with a piece of string!
Much of this afternoon was spent on household chores and trying to organise a family and a holiday to all come together at once!! Hubby decided it would be nice if we could all go somewhere together for a few days...I get the task of organising it!
Thanks to Marlieske for hosting.
