Loading Logs

A lovely afternoon, just right for a run out to Derwent Water.   Our first stop was the NT car park at Great Wood below Ladies Rake.   I do wish NT and SNT would talk to each other.  Members of either get free car parking, NT you scan your membership card SNT cards can't be scanned, so you have to put them in the window and hope they are spotted.

Right beside the car park (having driven through it) was this large trunk with a trailer almost the same size.  It would appear they have been cropping the surrounding woods.  Shots of the lake are repeatable, you can't guarantee seeing a sight like this again in the near future.  Well not beside a car park!

After a walk along the shore and taking shots we carried on up the lake to the Kettlewell Car Park.   Where we waited for the amazing sunset, which never happened.
