Mika All Grown Up

Several months ago, I featured our kitten, Mika (mee - ka), in several of my Blips.

In a rare moment today, she allowed me to photograph her, and looked straight at me.

I thought that my Blipfoto Journal friends would enjoy seeing her all grown up. She is a very small cat, but has calmed down a bit, and seems to sleep almost as much as her very big brother, Oliver.

Mika loves to watch television, and recently has discovered the benefits of having a large patio door with a deck. I often put out sunflower seeds and whole grain bread for the two squirrels that live in the trees outside of our house. Mika LOVES to watch them, and has started staking out the deck from the back of the family room sofa. She seems to know their arrival schedule, and has figured out squirrel speak for, "Time to go torture that indoor cat again."

I have taken to calling this new daily ritual "Mika's Live Animal Kingdom Hour."

Fortunately, she has not tried leaping through the glass doors after her first attempt ended in a crashing embarrassment. (I'm pretty sure the chubby squirrel laughed at her.)

I have to admit that she knew that I had thrown some stale bread out on the deck after one of the squirrels was staring at me with sad eyes. It ran away when I opened the door, and while she waited patiently for its return, I managed to catch our princess waiting for the matinee to begin.

She's a sweet cat and loved by my entire family.
