The wonky electric socket in the kitchen, instead of the screws just being tightened up, has to be replaced. What is the betting we can’t get a matching plate and they all have to be redone. Ho hum.

Other excitement of the day: the ironing pile got ironed, and a man came to give me a price to prune The Orchard. Well, one miniature apple and one miniature plum. A date has been set.

Wood Pigeons have started to nest at the front, but far enough away to hopefully not disturb us with their amorous cooing, Collared Doves have been mating without shame in the beech tree, Tree Sparrows seem interested in the front nestbox and Blue Tits are frequently visiting the one at the back.

It must be Spring ......... almost.
