It's Grim Up North

Somewhere in the Howgills

Pastel crayons, a new experience. I think they've got potential.

Reading A Short History of Brexit by Kevin O'Rouke, economic historian. Apparently David Cameron was sent a memo in 2014 from somewhere deep in government that said 'we must ensure that our commemoration (of the 1st world war) does not give any support to the myth that European integration was the two world wars'. As Kevin says "If words fail you I'm afraid I can't help, for they fail me too."
The source of this info was Liberal Democrat William Wallace, writing in the Independent in 2017. Who wrote the memo, we don't know, but I suspect they went on to be an arch Brexiteer.
