Nunney Castle

About three miles out of Frome is the village of Nunney where there is a castle. Although dating back to 1373, and damaged by the Parliamentarians in the Civil War, it is in surprisingly  good condition. There are four round towers around an open courtyard and the whole castle is ringed by a moat.  The property is maintained by English Heritage and has free entry and no entry time restrictions. We had a good look round and I took one or two pictures.

This morning we took a walk by the river after a drink at the Riverside Cafe. Lunch was at the vegetarian Garden Cafe and this evening we had tea at the local hostelry, The Artisan. A very nice meal washed down with a pint of Doom Bar.
