Human Rights Day
We went to visit the Supa Stupa as usual in the morning only to find that it had been invaded by Armed Police, 100s of them! I asked one of the guys who looked like he might be in charge what was going on and he said today was Human Rights Day. For me this wasn't really ample explanation. The atmosphere of a normally serene and peaceful place was destroyed (if you look closely in the upper right hand corner you will see Buddha's eyes looking down unapprovingly...
In the afternoon we went to an event that was launching a book. A partner organisation have a campaign with the Nepalese Football Association to stop violence against women ("Be a REAL man and Play A Fair game"). The most famous Nepalese footballer of all time was there. I could tell as soon as he walked in that he was a footballer. He had that walk, and a mullet! We spoke to him afterwards and he was a very nice chap :-)
And on top of all this excitement it is Joshua's 14th birthday today, feliz comple anos Snr GPS!
