Ivy on tree

The original of this photograph was a little flat in contrast and the ivy leaves did not stand out well from the background trunk of the tree.  I experimented a bit with tonal adjustments and with a monochrome conversion, but eventually settled on a filter from Nik Color Efex Pro 4 called Bleach Bypass which nicely brings out the patterns of the leaves and stems.

I haven't experimented much in the past with Color Efex and it's not a tool that I'm likely to use often, but it has made this shot a little more interesting.
