through the round window

I was chairing a listening event with Irish Travellers yesterday and for a few hours I had a window into their world. It is one of marginalisation, discrimination and stereotyping. One where less than 5% of children achieve good GCSEs and the average life expectancy of an adult male is 62. Ye I saw determination, passion and enthusiasm from the young Travellers, who want to be allowed to grow and achieve. I was challenged and impressed in equal measure. May I not stand in their way and may I be an fellow traveller on that journey.
