A New Skill

Today G and I attended day 1 of a 2 day mosaic course - a quite wonderful birthday gift from G. We were actually booked to go ages ago, but the tutor had to stop doing the course for a while. The tuition is mostly one to one as it was only the two of us attending. Today we covered choosing colours using a colour wheel; preparing the board to be used; the different types of mosaic tile, china, glass stones etc used; how to cut the various materials; and gluing and placing the tiles. As you can also hopefully see in the photo, we also made a start on the projects we'd chosen. The tutor had kindly prepared the board in advance and numbered some broad sections of the design to show us the sequence of sections to do, starting with the border. Fingers crossed that we have enough time to finish our pieces tomorrow. I've wanted to learn how to do mosaics for ages and thoroughly enjoyed the day. Thanks again G :)))))
