Reality vs the new bag
For years, my acupuncturist and my physical therapist told me that I shouldn't be carrying so much stuff around after a neck injury like mine. They were right, of course, but you know, a computer, book, water, random stuff, all needed for a full day of research, it seems pretty impossible to do differently. I compromised but using only backpacks. And tonight, my new backpack decided to agree with the common wisdom and broke. 2 months old, and one of the backpack strap just separated from the back of the bag. Sigh....
In other news: my students did their first literary analysis. Asked many, many questions that I couldn't answer. No, I can't read what you have so far to see if you are going in the right direction. No, I don't care if you missed last class and didn't took the time to go read the documents I put online, it's not my responsibility to do your work, sit down and do your best. That student kept looking at me with seething eyes, and my mean side was satisfied to see him in trouble as he has been a pain in class. Lets see if he understands and works better from now on (I doubt it, but you never know!)
Now, grading.
