Wanaka Challenge 2019

Today the schools held their triathlon, which involved a swim leg, bike ride, then a run.  The swim was 300 metres, bike 14 km, and run 3.5 km, which was far enough, as they were certainly very  tired during the run.  Here is a competitor from Waitaki Girls High School which is in Oamaru.  The road by the lake is now closed off for the big event on Saturday, so there are huge queues of cars on all the available roads.  e.g.  Usually it takes me 10 minutes to drive to pick up little 'h' from school, today it took us 35 minutes!  Extra 1 is of the bridge over the road which is used for the transition of swimming to cycling.

Today is of course Valentines Day, managed to get just the one photo of a couple down by the lake.

Tomorrow and Saturday the traffic will be much worse, not looking forward to there being so many people in town.

This morning I went to SeniorNet, learned about various apps available for the iphone, and also about Virtual Reality Games.  We also learned about Fibre Broadband.
