Lang Stane
The Lang Stane is to be found just off Union Street. It is a granite stone in a recess in a corner of a street, somewhat hidden from view. Information regarding the stone can be found on Wikipedia and probably elsewhere on the internet. It seems it has stood in its present location since at least 1746. It feels rather lost and neglected, and could do with being cleaned.
I was in the area today to pick up some files and so it seemed it could fit with Abstract Thursday, though it does not relate to the theme for this week.
I was tempted to turn it horizontally so as to better fit on the page (screen), and when it formed part of a stone circle it may have lain on its side. However I thought it looked odd unless I removed the alcove in which it currently stands.
