Pathetic in the extreme

Our national electricity provider has finally been declared insolvent. That in itself is horrendous but to add insult to injury, the billions that have been pumped into its expansion have either been pilfered or wasted on extremely poor maintenance or new structures.

The result, rolling blackouts that will, if no serious decisions are made, bring the country to its knees.

Similarities to the path travelled by our neighbours to our north are alarming but sadly not surprising. The sad reality of African politics.
