On the way back

So we decided to make the trip across the Channel . . . just because we could really. A gorgeous day in Calais and for the crossing - it could have been mid-summer. A wonderful way to travel - on the way there watching the blue sky and the sun on the water, with nothing else to do but read a book - bliss. Then on the way back we watched the most beautiful sunset. 

We arrived in Calais just in time for a lovely lunch at one of our favourite little restaurants - fabulous food, beautifully presented, efficient and yet relaxed service and a modest price - perfect. Only the French . . . 

And we managed a bit of shopping too. A lovely day.
