Awaiting the guests

Table ready and leek, potato and cheese soup hot. Bit of a squash round my small table but we don't stand on ceremony, it is the company we seek. Bit sad as we have two friends with husbands who are very ill - seems worse at this time of year.
The soup and wine were enjoyed and cards exchanged (by those who had written them!) and we are meeting again next week when we will still find things to discuss!
