While her husband Fede is working away, in patriarchal fashion I swooped in and had a Valentine's Day precursor meal with Hannah.

We raided the special Marks and Spencer selection. That store is smashing the Valentine's Day meal range this year, and it's more affordable than M&S's usual fare. Heart-shaped chocolates, creamy tartlets, buttery sautéed veg, tangy pressé, chewy macarons and gourmet scotch eggs. Plus a hearty side order of catching up with Hannah, who I haven't seen since October.
