Iris
Look what the sunshine brought out! It really has been a proper Spring day and I enjoyed wandering around the garden first thing looking for colour. I saw these dwarf iris in waves of gorgeous purpleness at RHS Harlow Carr last year and was determined to enjoy some of my own. We couldn't quite run to a 'wave' but I have half a dozen flowers out looking very pretty. I hope they last till the tulips around them come out.
I did lots of 'small things which needed doing' this morning whilst waiting in for a representative from 'Friends of Bingley Station' to arrive to take away the three remaining IKEA bags of books Tony is parting with. What a nice chap he was and he also took a look at my kitchen blind which is in need of repair. It sounds like he may be able to replace it much more cheaply than I initially paid for it some years ago. The Friends have installed bookshelves in the waiting room at the train station and will be operating a book swap from there.
Friend Chris arrived unexpectedly with some patchouli and orange oil she had put together for me (the aroma of student days in the nicest possible sense!) and we enjoyed a turn around Coppice Pond in the sunshine after which I rested my knee until it was time to go see Richard the Physio. No running for at least two more weeks sadly. There was a fair bit of manipulation (ouch) followed by some therapeutic ultrasound and massage. I am missing hobbling and the Hobblers but will catch up with some of them tomorrow when we are marshalling at parkrun.
