New Year

Spent most of the morning on a phone conference but it's never a great way to join a meeting. Managed to get quite a lot done afterwards - emptying the inbox and doing some writing. Spent some time talking with  V about her mum (anniversary of her accident today), then with CB over tea and delicious cakes at Soderberg (still think of it as Peter's Yard!). She's managing somehow to keep her good humour and a positive approach to everything in life despite trolls and uninformed attacks over the last 6 months. Horrible, and I don't know if I'm doing enough to protect her (could anyone?)
Lovely evening at the zoo for Chinese New Year at a reception - a chance to see the giant lanterns. Beautiful display and a lovely evening. It's been such a gorgeous springlike day...hopefully it will stay like that all weekend.
