L S Lowry

L S Lowry is a famous English artist who painted mostly industrial scenes with characteristic matchstick men in them. L S Lowry's second home was Sunderland . He stayed at the Seaburn hotel many times and painted many pictures of the beach.

LS Lowry always stayed in room 104, except on rare occasions when it was not available. It enjoyed stunning sea views – as did his regular table in the dining room.
