Piwakawaka.
Piwakawaka,
With his fantail fluttering,
Flitting here and there.
Because of the shape of the tail we call this bird a fantail. The Maori name is piwakawaka which gives a sense of it's constant movement. This does make them quite difficult to photograph. They often follow people hoping to find insects that may have been disturbed.
