Flowering Fennel.... the Smell of Summer...

Maisie and I took a shorter walk this morning. There is wild fennel in flower in great quantities along the Taylor River. I love the smell of Fennel. It reminds me of aniseed. I add the seeds to a variety of dishes.
Cathy and Daryl, our Kaiteriteri camping friends, visited us this morning. Daryl had brought his 1949 “Matchless” motorbike here from Christchurch for a Motorcycle Rally. It was lovely to see them both. Maisie fell in love with both of them.
