Ground hornbill
I finally managed to get a decent photo of one of the ground hornbills at Linton Zoo today.
These are amazing birds, if not the prettiest! Apparently, they are very social, very intelligent, and very long lived (up to 70 years!). It takes 6 years until they are able to breed, and then they need to help others first, in order to learn. A group of up to 6 pairs might collectively raise 1 chick every 2 years.
