Waiting to lay

We now only have six hens and at the moment only the little black hen is laying eggs. This is her nesting place and generally she lays one little egg every other day. It is enough for us as we do not eat many eggs and we never have to buy any.

Another Spring- like day, mild and sunny with a beautiful blue sky. The cockerals have taken on a spring like stance and our Muscovies have become very interested in the female Aylesburys.

The afternoon was spent indoors as ians parents and brother visited for a meal, so we did not really benefit from the good weather. My cooking was successful and we spent a very pleasant time with them.

Call the Midwife did not record and we are about to watch a new series called Baptiste. Hope it's worth the wait.
