It was one of those days at work. Memories of John McEnroe sprang to mind whilst playing in a Wimbledon final all those years ago: "You cannot be serious man!"

We are going through a restructure and people are getting concerned and upset. Q. Is management an art or a science? There is much turmoil and strife ahead. There will be winners and there will be losers. Q. Who will be the winners? Change is progressive and inevitable. Q. Is all change naturally good? Many people must face up to the new economy, recession, competition, cost cutting, reskilling, performance management, KPIs. Q. Does it have to be like this? Is there a third way?

Only time will tell. The jury is out for the moment. We will see who rises to the new challenges and who will survive and prosper in the new regime.
