The Old Forge (Sunday 17th February 2019)

Most of Sunday was spent incarcerated in the studio outbuilding setting up the AV soundsystem some more. I put an old rug under the table to soften the acoustics and added more speaker cable to accomodate an extra pair of rear speakers. Eventually these will be wall mounted but for the time being they stand on the stone floor.
German Amazon have been having a three-for-two CD and box-set sale and I ordered these from my bucket list on Friday. To my surprise they turned up Sunday lunchtime, so when everything was ready I was able to play the Beatles' White album in full in its new 5.1 mix - quite an experience. They were rather good :).
There's no wi-fi in there at present and I didn't get online all day apart from a breakfast browse on the iPad.

Recorded 50 years ago on this day, when Johnny Cash visited Bob Dylan at the start of the sessions for Nashville Skyline. They had recently performed it together on The Johnny Cash Show. Joni Mitchell sang the same song with him when she guested on the show.
