Carskey Bay, More Big Waves
9.3C with a bright cloudy morning then an afternoon of sunny spells and torrential showers. SSW wind to 28 mph with gusts to 45 mph in the morning and to about 37 mph in the afternoon.
Apothecary7's day off.
We decided to go for another visit to Carskey Bay. Mid morning we drove the ten miles or so South to Southend then followed the road round past Dunaverty beach and Kiel to Carskey Bay. No seals on the rocks at Kiel again. High tide was just before 11am and the rocks where the seals haul out we being battered by the waves. At Carskey there was a strip of beach to walk along. All lovely deep sand washed up to the dunes. The sun was struggling to peep through the clouds so photos were darker than yesterday. The waves were just as entertaining and just as big and loud and dramatic.
We walked along to the far end of the beach and back.
Fergus was on his lead and having lots of fun trying to pull me into the dunes.
Later Apothecary 7 was painting.
BBC Radio Scotland was on in the background.
