Cold then wet

So for the last two weeks the heating in Oxfam’s uk office was broken. The nursery closed, vulnerable adults could no longer come into work, and we worked in coats gloves and scarves as temperatures dipped to 13 degrees - not good for a largely sedentary workforce.

Today should have been the start of a new week with heating but the office has flooded overnight and this morning water was still pouring through light fittings, ceilings collapsing... no chance of going back into work this week. I can work anywhere with an internet connection but for others it’s not so easy.

What next? A plague of locusts? And I thought our woes were over.....
