Krakow
How exciting - I'm on my MMT!
I spent the plane journey pouring over the guide book and building an idea of where everything was. On arrival, we settled ourselves in to a traditional small hotel and headed out to a recommended authentic Polish eatery for soup and chicken.
We then began to stroll. What a beautiful city! We've been incredibly lucky on the weather front with warmer temperatures than normal and pure blue sky. Still cold enough for my ears to hurt though, we headed into a chocolatier for a hot chocolate.
Oh my! The gloop of the chocolate soup was almost enough to stand a spoon up in. It's telling when the separate ramekin of cream helps soften the richness and you're delivered a glass of water to help wash it down!
After coming back to the hotel for a little snooze, more guide booking and showers, we'd got over the calories enough to make room for dinner. And it was fine! Rich finished with what they called as Polish a vodka as it was possible to have and we went off to experience an evening in the square.
I've fallen in love with the polka dot appaloosa horses. We sat and watched them as well as life go by with drinks from inside one of the cosy glass cabins lining the square.
Auschwitz tomorrow.
