The Upper Ebor falls
Today we drove inland from Coffs Harbour to Armidale and on the way we stopped at Bellingen and the Ebor Falls. They are quite impressive and no doubt helped by the fact that a considerable amount of rain has fallen over the last few days.
Ebor Falls are located on the Guy Fawkes River and are on a plateau 1300m above sea level. The temperature dropped to 13 degrees which is at least 10 degrees lower than we have become accustomed to. The weather was foggy with heavy rain as we topped the mountain range onto the plateau but improved as we travelled inland and the sun came out for brief period when we stopped at the falls.
The upper falls tumble 115 metres over columned basalt rock in two falls.
