Funeral
Apologies for my absence (again), I've been hard at work as per on my latest uni assignments - that is going to be the case for the next few weeks at least, so my attendance on here will be spotty at best!
I attended the funeral today of a wonderful lady called Jessie. Jessie was a cleaner at my old high school, though we kept in touch after I graduated in 2015 (she retired the year after, and I went back into the school to visit during her last week, having made a 'happy retirement' video for her from various staff and pupils). She came to my 21st birthday party last July, and I went to her 50th wedding anniversary party in October, which was the last time I saw her. High school wasn't always the easiest of times for me (which my blips from a few years ago alluded to), but she was often there with a hug and kind words if I was ever down.
The service was held in a local community club/pub, which I'd never seen before, and the place was packed - she was a very well liked person! I actually bumped into my old head teacher, as well as a few of my old year group, which was nice. They had a slideshow of pictures on in the background, which was lovely. There were a lot of tears, although a lot of happy memories shared too. R.I.P Jessie, you beautiful soul.
