A face you would never tire of slapping

I have made it a rule for ages now not to watch question time. It is weaponised BS, with a shifty audience of plants and idiots to season the excrement stew served up by the clown car of repeat offender chancer guests.

However Twitter is always there to show you the most egregious examples. This week was exceptional though. I didn’t think I could despise JRM more than I already did, but when he decided to ride in to defend the use of concentration camps by the British during the Boer War that was next level. God knows how they got onto that subject, it isn’t exactly topical, even during a period when a chunk of the population seems determined to wallow in an idealised version of the past. But they did, and he lectured the guest next to him, the one who actually knew what she was talking about, in that unique combination of well mannered, clueless condescension he has made his trademark, on the need to know your history - while demonstrating that he didn’t.

For the avoidance of doubt these camps were not a charitable act, the people in them were perfectly able to feed themselves before we rocked up and burned down their farms, they didn’t volunteer to be rounded up behind barbed wire, and despite what he tried to imply the 25,000 children who died in them weren’t killed by kindness.

And on top of that he insisted on pronouncing Scotland’s largest city as Glaaaaaaassssssgoooowwwww.

What a despicable waste of skin.
