Something beginning with W.
Wesley bobs.
Christmas decorations that hang from a tree.
Is this just a Yorkshire name for baubles?
Edited to add:
In times gone by in Yorkshire, two girls called "vessel maids" would knock on doors during advent, carrying three figures, these figures represented the Holy family. They would be carried in a decorated box or a double loop of evergreens, covered with a special white cloth. The girls would carry it from house to house, singing carols and asking a penny to see the Holy Family. The box or loop was known as a Wesley Bob, a Wassail Bob or a vessel cup. It was deemed most unlucky if the Wesley Bob did not call.
There you go. A bit of Yorkshire Christmas tradition.
