Serendipity

Something new.

I discovered that you can put computer hard drives in a little box purchased from the mighty Amazon for about £20 which allows you use them for external storage.

Now, this is not new to the rest of the world I'm sure but it was useful for me as I have two 2TB drives that were in a Western Digital NAS drive that I bought recently, which was truly appalling! The software to make it go was horrible and the noise it made with the drives clattering away day and night was terrible. Clearly the case's fault as they're near silent in this little box, it does have a lid by the way but it's off here for effect.

Whilst this solution lacks the network connection of the NAS drive box and  I have to back up manually that doesn't bother me. At least I know it's being done. Very happy with my new little £20 box. Anyone want a very clattery and rubbish Western Digital box!!!

This Blip was inspired by mirco43's very interesting Blip about an old type of computer I'd never heard about before. Every day's a school day!
